February 6: Eugena Talley

Black History on The Block
Audacy

Born and raised in the upstate of Greenville, SC, Eugena Talley has always had a passion for serving others. At the age of 10 she knew right away that she’d become a trauma surgeon in the Army. Once she became an adult, she had other plans, so she secured a job as a surgical assistant and served in a Level I Trauma ER. Little did she know that learning to work under pressure and fast-thinking would prepare her to become the first woman in Greenville, SC to open a soul food vegan cafe! Her business currently employs several women in the community.

Her mission is to serve all who visit with love and a pure heart! In her short 2.5 years of business, Eugena has managed to go from cooking in her home to owning a full restaurant and meal prep company! She continues to give back through FREE meal deliveries and herbal medicines for the sick and shut in. Even if not local, Eugena ships products across the country.

In her free time you can catch her cultivating new meals, hiking, studying, boat riding, traveling, reading and spending time with her family. Eugena believes that success looks different for everyone; however, when we give to others it just comes back to us. There’s no quick gimmick, there’s no overnight hustle. Simply add a generous amount of discipline, consistency, honesty, and integrity, sprinkle 2 cups of patience, a cup of laughs, mix in hard work and tenacity and cover that with a layer of love! Let bake for a lifetime and That’s the recipe for success!
