Holding a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations and an MBA in Marketing from Gardner-Webb University, Verhonda has seamlessly blended her academic prowess with her passion for community service and business innovation.
At a young age, Verhonda made history by becoming the youngest elected government official in the state of South Carolina. Over the past 14 years, she has dutifully served as a councilwoman in her hometown of Chesnee, leaving an indelible mark on the community through her commitment to public service.
In addition to her political endeavors, Verhonda wears multiple hats as the founder of VC Consulting, LLC. Through her consultancy, she harnesses her expertise in public relations and marketing to drive economic mobility and philanthropy. Her dedication to organizational development has made a significant impact on the clients she serves.
Verhonda also spearheads the Minority Business Connect initiative in Spartanburg County, serving as the project manager. This social capital building endeavor, powered by Spartanburg County Government and Spartanburg County Foundation, aims to foster camaraderie among business owners and promote inclusivity in the local business landscape.
A seasoned pageant participant, Verhonda's journey includes being crowned Former Miss South Carolina US International and achieving a commendable top-15 placement at the Miss US International pageant. She firmly believes in the transformative power of pageants as a means to refine a woman's public speaking skills.
Beyond her public service and consulting roles, Verhonda is the proud owner of the Verhonda Crawford Collection, a clothing boutique specializing in custom pageant and bridal attire, as well as ready-to-wear clothing. Her entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to empowering others shine through in every facet of her diverse and impactful career.
