The facilities enrichment grant would be used to build extra offices for mental health services. As with many schools, we have seen a major increase in the number of students dealing with mental health issues (i.e. anxiety, depression, trauma, violence, etc.). This increases the need for mental health services from therapists, case workers, law enforcement, etc. We currently have therapists that come into our school to meet with students and there are times that office space is minimal or other professionals have to give up their office space to allow the therapist to meet with students. In general, mental health issues are a huge concern for schools. With Covid-19 and the mass shut down and isolation from others, we are dealing with an even higher number of students struggling on a daily basis. This grant would allow us to create space that will benefit so many students in our school.
