The students have an incredible opportunity to go to a school surrounded by nature. The school is on 2 highway and has farm land on all four sides. Unfortunately, the students have no outside seating area to enjoy their beautiful surroundings. Therefore, Midway is asking for this grant in order to build a district wide outdoor classroom.\xa0The outdoor promotes whole-child learning. We envision a large concrete covered area where students can sit and have class time seat work. The outdoor classroom would also have raised garden beds with all grades would participate in growing vegetables that would be shared throughout the school.\xa0The students would also plant native Missouri prairie grasses and flowers so the students will get to know and study the vegetation that is all around them.
