Travis Kelce, George Kittle and Greg Olsen have created a “Tight End University” — an offseason summit for tight ends around the league to join and workout together.
Now, these tight ends must figure out if Tim Tebow gets an invite to the summit.
Tebow, 33, has never played the position before but was signed to a contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars to play tight end — or at least try out at the position in training camp.
Steelers’ Eric Ebron, who is among the active tight ends attending the summit later this summer in Nashville, wondered on Twitter if Tebow was indeed getting an invite, tagging the summit’s founders.
Kelce replied to the tweet with the eyeball emojis, perhaps a sign that Tebow may indeed get a formal invitation — or maybe they are just joking about it.
Tight End University certainly sounds like something Tebow should attend, learning and working out with the best around the league — should he get the invite.
Tebow’s signing with the Jaguars has been met with plenty of skepticism, including from current and former players for various different reasons.
The newly signed tight end spent the last five years playing minor league baseball with the Mets and has not been on an NFL roster since 2015. He has not appeared in an NFL game even longer, in 2012.
Tebow’s signing with the Jaguars was made official this week, in which he released a statement on the opportunity.
“I want to thank the Jaguars for the opportunity to compete and earn the chance to be a part of this team,” he said. “I know it will be a challenge, but it is a challenge I embrace. I am dedicated to taking the direction of our coaching staff and learning from my teammates. I appreciate everyone’s support as I embark on this new journey.”
