(610 Sports) – Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire looks to be on the outs in Kansas City.
Edwards-Helaire, who has seen decreased playing time in each of the last six weeks, looked to have hit rock bottom in Sunday’s win over the Jaguars. The third-year running back was on the field for just four snaps and didn't log a carry. Edwards-Helaire did have two targets, but failed to haul in either pass.
The decline in playing time and productivity looks to have moved Edwards-Helaire, a former first-round pick who was the Chiefs’ starter at running back for the first six games of the season, to third in the pecking order for snaps out of the backfield moving forward.
Rookie Isiah Pacheco led the Chiefs with 16 carries for 82 yards against the Jaguars in Week 10. Pacheco got a season-high 35 offensive snaps, and he appears to be the top running back going forward, with Jerrick McKinnon as the teams top pass-catching option out of the backfield.
