(610 Sports) – According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, the Kansas City Chiefs are bringing back veteran quarterback Chad Henne to back up Patrick Mahomes. The deal is reportedly for one year, $2 million and will be Henne's fifth year with the team.
Henne has appeared in just 8 games during his 5-year tenure with Kansas City, going for 41-57 for 359 yards and two touchdowns. He missed the entire 2019 season on injured reserve with a fractured ankle.

Henne's biggest contribution in Kansas City was running for a key first-down on 3rd and 14 against the Cleveland Browns in the 2020-21 playoffs, after replacing an injured Patrick Mahomes in the third quarter of the game. Henne dove head-first into tacklers in order to pick up the first down and seal the win for the Chiefs.
