(610 Sports) – Down ten points and quarterback Patrick Mahomes on the sidelines in obvious pain, things were looking bleak for the Kansas City Chiefs as they headed into the locker room at halftime. Fast forward a quarter and some change, suddenly, it's a whole new ballgame.
Not only has Patrick Mahomes been able to stay in the game following the halftime festivities, he doesn't look to be near as limited in his mobility as we had all feared.
Mahomes led the Chiefs on a touchdown drive coming out of the half, scrambling 14 yards to pick up a first-down in the process.
Thanks to wide receiver Kadarius Toney, the Chiefs were able to take a short-lived second-half lead over the Eagles.
After leading the Chiefs down the field and into scoring range, Mahomes hit Toney on a short pass at the Philadelphia five-yard line and Toney did the rest.
The Chiefs were able to hold the Eagles on their next possession and force punt. Toney would make a big play once again, taking the punt 65 yards and put the Chiefs in position to score on the next play with Mahomes finding rookie Skyy Moore for a 4-yard touchdown catch. The score would put Kansas City up 35-27.
The Eagles didn't let Mahomes and company enjoy the lead for long, marching down the field and scoring on a 2-yard touchdown run from Jalen Hurts. The touchdown was the third rushing touchdown of the game for the Eagles QB.
