(610 Sports) – It was widely assumed that the Kansas City Chiefs would eventually re-sign DE Melvin Ingram at some point in the offseason but that is no longer the case. On Sunday, it was reported that the Dolphins had agreed to terms on a deal with the veteran free-agent pass rusher.

With Ingram now having signed with another team, the Chiefs, having employed the rarely used UFA tender, will receive a compensatory draft pick due to his departure. With the addition of the compensatory pick, the Chiefs now hold 12 total picks for the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Chiefs hold all seven of their own picks, a fourth and sixth-round pick from the Dolphins due to the Tyreek Hill trade and two other compensatory picks, in addition to the compensatory pick from Ingram's signing.
The compensatory pick for Ingram is still unknown at this time, the contract value and length will determine whether it’s valued anywhere from Round 3 to Round 7.
