(610 Sports) – After another offseason in which Eric Bieniemy failed to land a head coaching job, there was rampant speculation that Bieniemy would not return as the offensive coordinator of the Kansas City Chiefs. It now seems that speculation can be laid to rest.
According to Matt Verderame of FanSided, the Chiefs “anticipate” that Bieniemy will return as the team’s offensive coordinator.

There have been recent reports that head coach Andy Reid and Eric Bieniemy were scheduled to meet to discuss Bieniemy's coaching future. Joining 'Cody & Gold' of 610 Sports on Thursday, Verderame shed some light on where things stood in relation to that rumored meeting.
"My understanding, from a source, that meeting was finished and it went well. It was not an overly formal meeting, Andy Reid is out in California, so that meeting was fairly informal," said Verderame. "Kind of a 'hey, let's touch base, let's make sure we support you in your quest to find a job that he deems fit, or maybe even an improvement over where he's at,' but if that doesn't come to pass, the Chiefs expressed a lot of interest in retaining him and bringing him back."
"Based off of the conversations they've had with Bieniemy, they anticipate that he will return as the offensive coordinator," Verderame said. “No contract has been signed yet, so it's not official, there could always be an eleventh-hour change but I'm told the Chiefs anticipate that Eric Biemiemy will be returning as their offensive coordinator."
