On a Sunday where Patrick Mahomes threw five touchdowns to four different receivers in a Chiefs rout of the Cardinals – it was the one TD he wasn’t involved in that might have been the biggest deal in Chiefs Kingdom.
That’s because it was a rushing touchdown for rookie Isiah Pacheco, the first NFL score for the seventh-round pick from Rutgers:
Pacheco had some big shoes – or at least a big jersey – to fill, as he was issued Tyreek Hill’s No. 10, fitting for the back who had the fastest 40 time at the Combine. On the day, he had 12 carries for 62 yards and was the Chiefs’ leading rusher, although Clyde Edwards-Helaire (seven carries for 42 yards, three catches for 32 yards and two TD) had the best fantasy day and Jerrick McKinnon chipped in seven touches for 49 yards.
The rookie also returned one kick for 22 yards, but his biggest impact came in the backfield on that memorable touchdown run. Welcome to the NFL, Pop!
