Former first-round pick Corey Coleman signing with Chiefs

(610 Sports) – The Kansas City Chiefs are signing another former Baylor wide receiver looking to revive his NFL career.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, former Cleveland Browns first-round draft pick Corey Coleman is signing with the Chiefs. Clemons was the 15th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.

The 27-year old wide receiver has had a disappointing career, accumulating just 61 receptions for 789 yards and 5 touchdowns since being drafted in 2016.

Following two seasons with the Browns, Coleman was traded to the Buffalo Bills for a 7th-round pick but never made the teams roster. Since then he’s had brief stints with the Patriots and Giants.

Coleman has an uphill battle to make a Chiefs' roster that features Tyreek Hill, Mecole Hardman, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Josh Gordon at wide receiver. Like Coleman, Gordon is also looking to rejuvenate his NFL career and the two former Baylor players could be going head-to-head for a roster spot.
