(610 Sports) – The Kansas City Chiefs and defensive end Frank Clark have agreed to a restructured contract, keeping Clark in KC through 2023 and creating some cap relief for the team.
First reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Clark's new deal is said to be $29 million over two years, which could potentially be worth up to $36 million.
By restructuring Clark's contract, the team was able to bring down the previously scheduled $26 million cap hit in 2022 on his previous deal and avoid $13.6 million in dead cap space, if they were to release the veteran DE, outright.
While Clark's production has dipped over the past few years, he is still just 28 years old and coming off of his third-straight Pro Bowl, last season.
