Since being taken in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Clyde Edwards-Helaire's Chiefs career hasn't quite taken off the way many expected it to. Between injuries and inconsistency issues, Edwards-Helaire's production has yet to match what's expected from a first round pick, and his future with the team will be one of the biggest questions throughout the 2022 season. Talking with 610's Fescoe In The Morning on Tuesday, Chiefs Insider Pete Sweeney explained why he thinks it's a make-or-break season for Edwards-Helaire.
"I think this is his last opportunity to, A., produce – which he has to an extent, it's just not living up to the hype he had on draft night – and B., stay healthy," he said. "That's been the biggest issue. Because there's been years now where you're like, 'All right, Clyde's finally getting going here,' and then all of a sudden he has an injury that's costing him five or six weeks of the season. And he's not really the same back for the playoffs. So I think he's going to be a player with eyes on him."
