(610 Sports) – The Kansas City Chiefs didn't have the start to the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars that they were looking for, failing to recover an onside kick to open the game and fumbling in the red-zone on their first offensive possession.
But the Chiefs were still the first team to score in Sunday’s matchup to take a 7-0 lead.
Acquired from the Giants just a couple of weeks back, receiver Kadarius Toney scored the first touchdown of his career to cap the Chiefs scoring drive. Toney was wide open on the right side, caught a pass at the line of scrimmage, and hopped along the sideline to stay in bounds on the way to scoring from 6-yards out.
The Chiefs had several chunk yardage gains on the drive, highlighted by a 21-yard catch by Travis Kelce and carries of 9 & 13 yards by running back Isaiah Pacheco, who had fumbled on the Chiefs' first possession.
The Chiefs defensive started the game strong, forcing punts on the Jaguars' first three possessions.
