There may not have been a more talked about moment from the Chiefs' first preseason game than Justin Reid's PAT. Reid, who came on to kick during the team's matchup in Chicago, went viral earlier in the week for nailing a 60-yard kick in practice, and went on to hit it straight down the middle – albeit from a bit closer up – against the Bears. Speaking with 610's Cody and Gold on Thursday afternoon, the Chiefs' safety explained his history with kicking and how the opportunity to do so in a game came together.

"I always used to mess around with the specialists during practice and go kick some field goals," he said. "I have a soccer background, grew up playing soccer my whole life. Started playing football a little bit in middle school, but really started playing in high school. Up until that point, I was soccer all the way through. So I was just taking that with me, and always having some fun with going and kicking the footballs. Coach Reid and Coach Taub saw me messing around one day, and were like, 'damn this guy can actually kick.' They decided to give me a shot at it, and we've been having fun with it."
