(610 Sports) – The Kansas City Chiefs have announced the hiring of former Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy as a Sr. Assistant/Quarterback's Coach.
Nagy rejoins the Chiefs after a four-year stint as the head coach of the Chicago Bears, prior to his time in Chicago, Nagy served as the Chiefs' quarterbacks coach from 2013-15, co-offensive coordinator in 2016 and sole offensive coordinator in 2017.
The hiring of Nagy comes on the heels of the team's announcement that Eric Bieniemy will be returning to Kansas City as the Chiefs' offensive coordinator.
Nagy replaces former Chiefs' quarterback coach Mike Kafka, who left the Chiefs this offseason to become the offensive coordinator for the New York Giants.
There will be some familiarity between Nagy and starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes, as Nagy was the Chiefs' offensive coordinator during Mahomes' rookie year, though Alex Smith was the team's starter, that season.
