By now, it's seems pretty set in stone that at some point in the earlier rounds of this weekend's NFL Draft, the Chiefs are going to pick a wide receiver. Opinions on which receiver they should take have varied over the last few months, and will certainly continue varying until the moment the Chiefs are on the clock, but there's an overwhelming agreement across most of the league's analysts that receiver is a huge position of need for Brett Veach and company. But is there someone that could more closely fill the role that Tyreek Hill left when he was traded to Miami in March? Speaking to 610's Fescoe In The Morning, former-player-turned-analyst Ross Tucker picked a guy who he thinks *might* fit the bill.
"The guy I really like when [the Chiefs] are drafting is Jahan Dotson from Penn State," he said. "I've watched every snap that kid has taken, and he is just smooth. He is is slick. He's not a big kid, but he has a crazy catch radius. All I'll say is this: you know how Tyreek Hill can miraculously -- even though he's a little dude -- jump up and make catches that make you, like, go 'wow, how did he do that?' That's Jahan Dotson. Jahan Dotson is Tyreek Hill-like. I'm not saying he's Tyreek Hill. Nobody is. Tyreek Hill is the fastest football player I've ever seen in my life. That's not Dotson. He's really fast, but he's not Tyreek Hill. My point is, though, they could use Dotson very similarly. A lot of those deep in-cuts, some of the other routes. If you give him the ball on some of those jet end sweeps, he runs pretty darn well. I think he ran like a 4.38-4.1, I mean, he's fast. I think he could be similar in terms of usage to Tyreek Hill. Probably not quite as explosive, but he is a really good route runner, really slick."
