Tuesday is the first day that NFL teams are allowed to exercise the franchise tag, and it sounds like the Chiefs may have a plan already. According to 610's Bob Fescoe, the team will 'most likely' use the franchise tag on left tackle Orlando Brown:
According to OverTheCap, the franchise tag for an offensive lineman comes in at just under $16.6 million. That'd be a significant raise for Brown, who made $3.3 million during his first season in Kansas City. Though he's technically set to become a free agent, the general consensus was that Brown would stay with the Chiefs, through either the tag or a contract extension. If the two sides can come to an agreement on said extension, the team would be able to remove the tag.
