Friday was the deadline for the Chiefs and Orlando Brown Jr. to come to agree to terms for a contract extension, and according to one report, a deal isn't going to happen. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero tweeted on Friday morning that Brown's agent had told him that it wasn't going to happen.

The impasse means Brown will play the season on the one-year, $16.6 million franchise tag. It was reported earlier in the week that if an agreement wasn't possible, Brown may hold out through training camp and even into the season, but The Athletic's Nate Taylor has reported that a final decision on that hasn't been made yet. Earlier this week, Taylor called into 610's Cody and Gold to explain why Brown's side has no leverage when it comes to these negotiations.
