It was a scary scene early in the first quarter at SoFi Stadium in Thursday’s game between the Chargers and Chiefs.

On fourth-and-goal, the Chargers decided to go for it as Justin Herbert tried to connect with tight end Donald Parham Jr. in the back of the end zone.

Parham was unable to make the catch, but as he landed the back of his head violently slammed into the turf and suddenly Parham was not getting up or moving.

Trainers came to attend to Parham and the game was delayed for quite some time as the tight end required a stretcher to be taken off the field.

The medical staff removed the facemask from Parham’s helmet and FOX cameras showed that he was indeed able to move his hands and legs. As he was carted to the locker room his hands were shaking while on the stretcher.

One sports medicine doctor on Twitter believed it could be an acute concussion.

Players remained huddled around one another before the game resumed while many on social media sent their best wishes to Parham.

Hopefully, the next update on Parham is a positive one but it was certainly a surreal moment at SoFi Stadium.
