Julio Jones trade rumors are nothing new this offseason, as the Falcons seem intent on moving on from their star wide receiver sooner than later. Pro Football Focus, who definitely know what they're doing at this point, got the attention of Football Twitter when they posted a hypothetical trade that sent Jones to the Chiefs:
So would a trade make sense? Do the Chiefs even need Julio Jones? Chatting with on 610's The Drive Thursday afternoon, former KC linebacker Shawn Barber explained why he thinks the Chiefs should steer clear of any move:
"After cap analysis, I would say no," he said. "I don't think that the salary that comes along with Julio is something you can absorb and still stay fluent enough to make the moves that usually need to be made during the season. The one thing I don't want to see the Chiefs do is overreact where many people think is a need at a position where I don't even feel we have a need. Public opinion says we have a need at wide receiver.
"I don't think wide receiver is a position of need. I actually see wide receivers as one of the many positions of strength that we have in this team going into the 2021 season."
