Through the first five weeks of the Defensive End Chris Jones experiment, results have been discouraging. After a two-sack debut against the Browns in the season opener, Jones has struggled in three games since, and will miss the Week 6 game in Washington with a wrist injury. Once he's healthy, how should the Chiefs bring Jones back inside? Pro Football Focus' Sam Monson joined 610's The Drive early this week to give his take:

"I think you've got to move him back inside immediately," Monson said. "Chris Jones is arguably the best interior pass rusher in the NFL not named Aaron Donald. He's been an absolute force the past few years, right up there in total pressures from the inside, PFF's pass rusher grade, whatever way you want to quantify pressure, from an interior lineman, he's been as good as it gets outside of Donald. From an edge rusher, he's just not the same guy. Now, he might be your best edge rusher, but that doesn't mean you're not losing something by putting him out there. He generates less pressure, less impactful pressures then he does from an interior lineman, and generally edge rushers get more pressure than interior guys. So, the fact that he's below his usual rate, at a position that should be getting more pressure, just indicates how much of a drop off there is for him out there."
