There have been plenty of rumors about the upcoming NFL Draft, none more prevalent in Kansas City than the idea that the Chiefs may be targeting one this year's top wide receivers. They'd have to trade up to get him, presumably, which has been a topic of conversation since 610's Bob Fescoe reported that he's heard the team is considering doing just that. While speaking to 610's Cody and Gold on Thursday, The Athletic's Chiefs reporter Nate Taylor echoed the same sentiment.
"I think what the Chiefs are hoping to do is take 29 and other picks and move up," he said. "And stay at 30. That way you still have two first round picks, with those 5th year options available to you, and maybe you get the benefit of both worlds, where you get that receiver if you really covet that player. For me? And this is just me personally, Jameson Williams is that dude. And if you want to stay at 30, and see if one of the defensive ends falls to you, then you can go get the best of both worlds with an offensive and defensive starter."
