Alex Gordon's no stranger to labor negotiations -- the former Royals outfielder was the team's player rep for years before retiring and handing the baton to Whit Merrifield. So while talking with 610's Cody and Gold on Friday afternoon, Gordon didn't hesitate to speak clearly on the problems he has with the current MLB lockout.

"It's tough. It's frustrating. You definitely just want to get the business side done and stick to baseball and just go out there and play," Gordon said. "This is just part of it. I know there's a lot of not agreeing on certain things, and it's going to eventually unfold and they're going get something done. What kind of frustrates me a little bit is how they wait to the last minute to try to get everything done, instead of right when the negotiations could have started in the offseason. They should have just been talking every day and going about it that way. But here we are now, and we're going to miss a couple days of spring training, which is unfortunate, but hopefully they can get something done soon. I used to be a players rep, so I'll always be on the side of the players. So I hope the Commissioner figures it out and gets everything settled the right way."
