Cody Decker knows a thing or two about being an MLB player. Decker, who bounced around professional baseball for a decade -- including a short stint with the Royals -- has been on a tear recently, lending his voice to the growing list of current and former players who are outraged over MLB's current lockout. He spoke with 610's The Drive on Thursday, and he didn't hold back.
"Absolute fury and anger, bitter disappointment, and overall just lethargicness [sic] to life because of it," he said. "This is an absolute disaster. It's only a disaster of the owners making. There's no other way to shake it other than that. And it's really looking more or less like it was their plan all along.
"It's about 150 years of distrust between players and owners. The very creation of the job of Commissioner was based off the 1919 Black Sox scandal ... that's how the Commissioner job was even created to begin with. There's a lot of distrust. This last 10 years, the last couple of CBAs, owners have had so much ground gained. And part of that is the Player's Association's fault. And right now the Player's Association is desperately trying to fix the bad deals they made in the last two CBAs."
