The Middlesex Hospital Vocal Chords present a 20th anniversary 9/11 patriotic tribute at the Bushnell on Saturday, September 11 at 2 PM.

Christine and Salt chatted with the show's Executive Producer, Joyce Ghent about the spectacular music you'll hear, "we're starting with the National Anthem, and we not only do the Pledge of Allegiance but we also have a beautiful song that we sing that follows that, we will be doing a tribute to the armed forces...and we also have students from Middletown and Portland High Schools performing...and they are sooo excited"

The students are there for a special reason, says Joyce, "they had not been born yet and I don't want them ever to forget."

Of course, just listening to her talk about never forgetting and all that patriotic music sends chills down one's spine. Joyce agrees it's moving, "in the finale we are singing 'God Bless America' and while rehearsing last night the hair went right up on my arm."

In case you were wondering, this amazing group of singers knows a thing or two about being on stage. They've performed at the Vatican for Pope John Paul II, in Washington D.C., and have traveled some 80,000 miles on the road.
