This week's Badass Woman of the Week is Iliana Ortiz Pappas from Milford, Massachusetts. But here's the twist – she's not just getting recognized by anyone, it's her own husband — Peter Pappas — who's nominating her! Their journey began with a digital spark on Match.com in 2013, and by 2016, they were saying "I do." Fast forward to some real-life challenges: just after their wedding, Peter faced a serious knee injury during a move. Guess who stepped up like a rockstar? You got it – Iliana. She managed the move, took care of Peter during his hospital stay, and held down her job as Director of Finance at Milford Regional Medical Center.
Now, let's talk about this year's curveball. On July 1st, a boating trip turned into a wild adventure, resulting in Peter breaking his back. And who's right there by his side again? Yep, you guessed it – Iliana. She's the epitome of strength and support, juggling everything at home, keeping up with her job, and still shining bright.
Peter knows a Badass Woman when he sees one, and after listening to stories of other inspiring women on the radio, he's convinced Iliana deserves to join their ranks.
