Every week, Christine and Salt interview the Badass Woman of the Week, celebrating women who've conquered challenges and emerged stronger. The honoree receives an empowering B Badass bracelet from The Power to B and is showcased on-air Fridays at 7:15 AM with Christine and Salt.
This week, we’re rolling out the red carpet for the one and only Sharell Herbert of Waterbury. Sharell is our Badass Woman of the Week, and honestly, it’s no surprise — just ask the entire 6th grade team at North End Middle School who couldn’t wait to shout her praises from the rooftops.
Sharell is the 6th Grade House Principal, and let’s just say, she’s the definition of a boss. She’s the last one out of the building every single day, working her magic to make sure her students are thriving and her teachers feel like the rockstars they are. Whether she’s holding students (and parents!) accountable or helping her team pivot in new and exciting directions, Sharell is always about making the school community better and brighter.
Oh, and if you think she takes a break after the bell rings — think again. Sharell shows up to every school event, cheering on her students and supporting her staff like the ultimate hype woman. In a world where teachers often feel underappreciated, Sharell goes out of her way to make sure her team knows just how essential they are. She cares deeply about every single person she works with, and it shows in everything she does.
The 6th grade team says it best: they couldn’t make it through the school year without her. Sharell, you’re an inspiration, a leader, and yes, a total badass. Listen to Sharell's interview with Christine and Salt below!
