Did you know that every year, more than a thousand young people in Connecticut get a huge boost from having a Big Brother or Big Sister in their lives?
Christine and Salt recently caught up with Andy Fleischmann, the head honcho at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Connecticut, and he shared some awesome news: their mentoring program now supports individuals well into their twenties!
Andy stressed how important it is to keep the mentorship going after high school. Unlike before, when mentoring usually stopped at 18 or after high school graduation, they realized that young adults still need guidance as they make big decisions about work or college.
But here's the thing: they need more mentors, especially guys from different backgrounds. Andy mentioned they're short on male volunteers, so guys, this is your chance to make a real difference!
And guess what? There's a fancy gala coming up on Saturday, March 9th, at 6 pm, at the Farmington Polo Club. It's a chance for the community to come together and support this great cause. Check out Christine and Salt's interview with Andy below!
