Former West Hartford resident, Englishman and American Ian Markham just wanted to go back to his birth country for a religious pilgrimage. He is, after all, The Very Reverend Ian Markham — Dean and President of the Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Virginia. His timing is impeccable as he's now able to both mourn and celebrate the late Queen Elizabeth in his birth country.
Just chatted w/former WeHa resident, Englishman & American, The Very Reverend Ian Markham, Dean and Pres of @VTS_Seminary about the passing of The Queen. He gives his perspective how bittersweet this is for fans of the late Princess Diana.@965tic @WeHartford @HartfordInt pic.twitter.com/Mo5K0Dljxp

Markham revealed, even before the interview started, that King Charles III had just driven by him. How cool is that?! Markham went on to tell Christine and Salt how much the late Queen Elizabeth meant to him, "when I heard the news...I shed a tear...I did so because...she was a permanent fixture of my life, she was part of the furniture of my mind, she was a person that I admired for her capacity to just do her job day in and day out and do so without complaining...she was an amazing woman." Check out the full interview below where Ian also tells Salt he should have been in London because the locals missed a massive marketing opportunity!
