Previous Badass Woman of the Week Sara Horwitz — better known as Connecticut’s own Snake Lady — just leveled up. She’s now officially the Rat Lady too! 🐍➡️🐀
Sara, a West Hartford native and Middletown resident, recently worked as a rat handler on the new Timothée Chalamet movie “Marty Supreme” and AMC’s “The Walking Dead: Dead City.” She joined Christine and Salt on the show to spill all the behind-the-scenes details from her Hollywood adventure — from keeping the rats safe on set to wrangling them during zombie scenes!
Horwitz, who works at Pratt & Whitney, has spent her life surrounded by animals — from Westmoor Park and Roaring Brook Nature Center to years at the Children’s Museum in West Hartford. Her mission? To help people see the beauty in creatures most of us overlook — or run from.
