Late Show sensation Paul Mecurio is bringing his "Permission to Speak" tour to our neck of the woods, and as he proved when he called into Christine and Salt — he brings the laughs!
So, Paul spills the beans about his upcoming gig in Westerly, Rhode Island, on March 9th at 7:30 at the United Theater. He's boasting about a Broadway-worthy set and some snazzy animations. Paul reveals he loves bringing audience members on stage, squeezing out their juiciest stories, and then turning them into comedy gold. Salt decides to throw some shade, insinuating that Paul's ripping off his audience members for material. Does he pay them, Salt asks? Well, Paul just laughs it off and drops the bombshell: his show is directed by none other than the legendary Frank Oz!
Then it was Christine's turn to insult Paul, wondering aloud if Frank Oz is still alive. Cue Paul's hysterical laughter, followed by a lighthearted scolding: "You are the worst radio hosts in the history of radio hosts!" Then he further mocked them by adding "hey everybody come to Paul's show he's gonna suck you dry for material and not pay you and it's directed by a guy who's dead!" But hey, Paul's not sweating it. He knows he's got a killer show lined up, complete with Emmy-winning talent behind the scenes and on stage (you know, the very ALIVE Frank Oz?!)
So, folks, mark your calendars and snag those tickets because Paul Mecurio is about to bring the house down. And hey, if you're lucky, you might just end up as the punchline of one of his jokes (that he won't pay you for)! Don't miss the full Christine and Salt interview with Paul below!
