CHESHIRE, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Cheshire Police say a vehicle theft suspect is at large following an escape.
Officers say Michael Zimmitti, 29, was taken into custody on larceny of a motor vehicle and illegal use of a payment card charges.
He escaped custody while he was receiving treatment from Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden.
An arrest affidavit for Escape from Custody is being prepared.
In addition to the charges with the Cheshire Police Department, Zimmitti has an outstanding warrant out of Meriden for robbery, breach of peace, and criminal attempt to commit larceny.
