
Easton, Conn./WTIC Radio - A woman is in the hospital after police in Easton say her vehicle was struck by an airborne deer Monday.
The incident occurred on Route 59 near Sherwood Drive in town around 9:00 a.m.
Police say the driver of a pickup truck hit the large deer north on Route 59, sending it flying into a Honda Pilot the woman was driving.
Investigators say the animal went through the front windshield, entered the passenger compartment of the Honda, and was ejected out the back.
The victim had to be extricated from the SUV.
She is now in serious condition at Bridgeport Hospital.
The road was closed for several hours for the investigation and clean up.
