Former F-14 Tomcat aviator Terry Deitz impressed by Top Gun Maverick actors
'These kids are all doing their lines in the airplane without barfing and they're pulling G's!'
Friend of the morning show, Terry Deitz, joined the crew to talk about the hottest movie of the summer — Top Gun, Maverick. Dietz knows a thing or two about adrenaline and Navy planes (and all planes, for that matter) as he's a retired U.S. Navy pilot and two-time Survivor contestant. He is currently an American Airlines pilot and host of Great Planes on the Military Channel.
Terry, a U.S. Naval Academy graduate, is impressed by the training the actors went through to deliver a realistic vibe in the movie, "these kids are all doing their lines in the airplane without barfing and they're pulling G's!"
Deitz is also super excited about a certain kid of a great pilot. Bradley Bradshaw — who goes by the call sign Rooster — is the son of Nick Bradshaw, a.k.a. Goose, Maverick's former Radar Intercept Officer who died in the first movie after a competitive training mission went wrong. And just how do these elite aviators get those call signs anyway? Find that out and more in the full interview below!
