A former New Haven police officer is charged in a sexual assault case involving a minor.
Police say Jeremy Elliott was a school resource officer who left the force two years ago.
He's charged with second degree sexual assault.
Elliott is out on a $100,000 bond, after being arraigned Friday.
In a written statement, New Haven Police Chief Karl Jacobson says his department takes all allegations of sexual assault seriously, and such behavior by members of the police force will not be tolerated.
