Here in the state, the Department of Public Health and Connecticut Immunization Coalition are teaming up with local health departments in hosting flu vaccine clinics for adults and children.

DPH commisioner Manisha Juthani says all indications are we will see increased flu activity this season, moreso than in recent years, when people were staying put and masking regularly during the height of the Covid pandemic.

She says flu cases have been surging down south and it's only a matter of time before the activity reaches Connecticut.

That's expected to ramp up along the Interstate 91/95 corridor and eventually across the state.

Juthani is urging residents to stay up to date on their Covid and flu vacinnations.
