(Southington, Conn./WTIC Radio - Southington police are charging a man with impersonating a police officer.
They say on Sunday, just before 4:00 p.m., they were called to the Stop and Shop on North Main Street on a report of a verbal disturbance between two patrons in the parking lot.
Seth Tichenor, 43, of West Hartford, allegedly identified himself as a Southington police officer, providing a badge number as proof.
He'd left the scene before the real police arrived.
Tichenor was later arrested and charged with breach of peace, as well as impersonating a police officer.
He's free on $50,000 bond and is due in court in New Britain February 14th.
