West Haven, Conn./WTIC Radio - A West Haven man is under arrest, charged with attempting to run one police officer off the road Saturday afternoon and crashing his vehicle into another's cruiser.
Under arrest Imran Ahmed, 54, of West Haven.
Just before 2:00 p.m., police say Ahmed pulled alongside one officer, attempting to run him off the road at Route 1 and Meloy Road.
Later, as the officer radioed updates on his way back to headquarters, Amhed took a sharp left turn and allegedly rammed his car into another cruiser at Greta Street and Saw Mill Road.
Additional officers arrived to arrest Ahmed.
He faces a slew of charges.
They include carrying a dangerous weapon, reckless driving, assault of a public safety officer, and illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle.
The suspect is being held on $500,000 bond.
