(Manchester, Conn. (WTIC Radio)-During an investigation that began this month, police seized a variety of drugs, paraphernalia, cash and a weapon from a Walnut street residence, arresting two suspects, according to Manchester Police.

The suspects are identified as 42-year old Jose Acevedo and 21-year old Adnel Ortega.

The arrests warrants were executed November 5th by the East Central Narcotics Task Force, DEA and Capitol Region Emergency Services Team. CREST was present due to concerns of firearms being present, according to law enforcement.

Police said their investigation revealed material consistent with the milling and packaging of fentanyl. Among the items retrieved, according to police: sifters, grinders, thousands of bags for packaging fentanyl and other narcotics, 7.5 kilograms of suspected bulk fentanyl, 7500 prepackaged wax folds containing suspected fentanyl, 12 ounces of suspected powder cocaine, and one and a half ounces of crack cocaine. Police said they also seized a 9mm Smith and Wesson pistol with an obliterated serial number and nearly $10,000.00 in U.S. currency.

Acevedo, according to Police, faces charges including Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell, Operation of a drug factory, Possession of drug paraphernalia and Risk of Injury. His bond is $250,000.

Ortega is charged with Alteration of a Firearm Identification Mark, Criminally Negligent Storage of a Firearm, And Risk of Injury. He posted a $50-thousand dollar bond and is due in Manchester Superior Court December 6th, police said.
