New Britain, Conn./WTIC Radio - The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority is announcing it has approved an annual rate requirement for United Illuminating to the tune of over $450 million.
It's eight-percent less than the utility had originally sought.
That means a likely rate increase of $9.99 for those using 750 kilowatt hours of electricity.
The decision covers the rate year from November 1st of this year through October 31st, 2026.
UI had been looking for a 27.4% increase or $105 million more than the current revenue requirement.
