He didn't have a getaway car, so police say Kyle Witkoski settled for a taxi.
They say the 36-year-old Southington man took the cab to the Go Happy Mart in Marion, went inside and announced, "this is a robbery." As the taxi waited outside, the store clerk was able to make it to a back room and lock the door -- leaving Witkoski empty handed.
Police say Witkoski then held up a gas station, but got only $20.
He needed it -- for the taxi.
Police then spotted Witkosky. He's being held on a $60,000 bond.
