MERIDEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Meriden Police arrest a terminated Stop and Shop employee who refused to leave the store's property and fought officers as they escorted her off the grounds.
Police say they arrived Wednesday to the Stop and Shop on Broad Street where Shayla Livingston, a terminated employee, would not leave the store's property. She, according to police, was disputing with managerial staff.
Due to the commotion and refusal to leave when ordered, Livingston was placed under arrest.
While handcuffed, Livingston attempted to resist police. As she was walked down a flight of stairs, she kicked an officer who was at the bottom of the staircase.
Resistance continued through the rest of the store and into the parking lot, where Livingston would not get in the back of a police cruiser. At that time, police used a taser on her to gain compliance. At that time, she's accused of kicking an officer in the face and another in the shin.
Livingston is charged with assault on a police officer, criminal trespass, interfering with police, and breach of peace. Bond is $100,000.
