A sobering sight on the lawn of Bushnell Park in Hartford: Hundreds of red and white flags symbolizing those who have been killed on the roads of Connecticut this year and last year.
A total of 659 flag were there.
Each of the red flags symbolized someone who was killed while walking or biking, while the white flags stood for those who were in cars when they died.
Several relatives of the dead gathered at Bushnell Park for the purpose of raising awareness about traffic dangers and to call for safer streets.
