Two men arrested on firearms, narcotics charges in Waterbury

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Waterbury police arrested two men on weapons and narcotics charges during a compliance check with parole officers on Tuesday.

The WPD Vice and Intelligence Unit took Melquawn Jamison, 23, of Waterbury, and Lamar Curry, 36, into custody after discovering a .40 caliber handgun, 174 bags of heroin, eight grams of crack cocaine and 13 ounces of marijuana, according to police.

On top of the charges directly related to the firearm and drugs, both men face additional charges related to possession of the items in a school zone.

Jamison, a convicted felon, was remanded while Curry posted $100,000 bond.
