Registration is open for runners and walkers to sign-up for the 24th Annual L.A Cancer Challenge in-person and virtual 5K walk/run to be held on Halloween Day. The L.A. Cancer Challenge, hosted and produced by the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research for more than two decades will take place on the gorgeous campus at UCLA where key research is performed at the foundation’s laboratories and home of the UCLA Agi Hirshberg Center for Pancreatic Diseases. In-person and virtual walkers and runners will be dressed in festive Halloween costumes to show unity for finding a cure for pancreatic cancer which has the highest mortality rate of all major cancers and is the third leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States surpassing breast cancer.
Virtual participants are invited to kick-off and personalize a local fundraiser by rallying family and friends and choosing a time and location to walk or run the 5K throughout their community.
Proceeds from the L.A. Cancer Challenge will benefit the Hirshberg Foundation’s philanthropic efforts to advancing pancreatic cancer research and providing information, resources and support to pancreatic cancer patients and their families. Since 1998, the L.A. Cancer Challenge has raised more than $9 million dollars for pancreatic cancer research. During the coronavirus pandemic, the L.A. Cancer Challenge will continue to comply with local and state public health guidelines as well as exercise proper safety measures.
EVENT ATTRACTIONS: A Fit Family Expo will feature a wide variety of Los Angeles’ top vendors, Halloween festivities, course entertainment and more. The L.A.
