"Ready to begin seeking the signs of past life."
NASA has shared video of the Perseverance Mars Rover's landing on February 18th! The up-close footage was obtained from cameras located on the bottom of the rover. You can see that the rover entered the planet's atmosphere with a deployed parachute, and it performed a "sky crane maneuver" before it touched down.
Perseverance has 23 high quality cameras to capture it's mission to Mars. The main point of the mission is to look for “signs of ancient microbial life.” We can't wait to review more footage as the mission continues!
