Michael Roberts was a member of the Patriots, and then he wasn't.
Now he's headed to the Packers.
The Lions originally sent the tight end to New England on Friday for a seventh-round pick, but the deal fell through when Roberts failed his physical.
He was returned to the Lions, who subsequently placed him on waivers. The Packers claimed him on Monday, according to Dov Kleiman.

— Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKleiman) June 17, 2019A fourth-round pick in 2017, Roberts showed flashes of his potential over two seasons, but nothing sustained. He caught 13 passes for 146 yards and three touchdowns in 23 games.
It was clear changes were coming to the tight end room this offseason when the Lions signed Jesse James and Logan Thomas and drafted T.J. Hockeson and Isaac Nauta. Including Jerome Cunningham, the Lions now have five tight ends.
The battle for the fourth spot will likely come down to Cunningham and Nauta.
