Alex Smith of the Washington Redskins suffered one of the nastier leg injuries you'll ever see.
I can feel for Smith. Just like him, I suffered a broken tibia and fibula in a sports accident back in the day. Only difference is I broke mine while playing basketball.
Smith also had a tougher road to recovery. I only had to have some tendons lengthened, which took three surgeries.
The Redskins QB had 17 surgeries. Smith teamed up with ESPN and E:60 to document his recovery. The images of his leg are tough to see.
When @Redskins QB Alex Smith broke his leg in 2018, no one thought it would take 17 surgeries to fix. Here's a look at #Project11 pic.twitter.com/lwcj1l0fV6
